A Welsh family believes their cat Lucy has set a new record by reaching her 39th birthday. Her exact age isn't verified, but her owner says people "verify seeing her in the fish and chip shop in the early seventies."

I adopted my cat from the ASPCA two years ago. They kind of prepared me for her death. She was 10, with a benign tumor in her belly (it looks like she has fur covered udders - disturbing visual), missing teeth, and advanced kidney disease. I fell in love anyways.

Two years later...Delilah is still going strong, despite the fact that I have to IV her twice a week, now that under 5% of her kidneys are functioning. It's kind of hilarious. I bet my cat will outlive us all.
