A few days ago, when Halle Berry announced — after a weird saga with Parade Magazine over some decade-old suicide attempt she had apparently not meant to rehash — that she was never giving another magazine interview again, we were mystified. What sort of writer could inspire someone as resilient as Halle Barry to forsake such a critical venue for voicing substantive thoughts set off by tasteful photos as that provided by the glossy magazine industry?

Well today, we read the story's byline and everything became crystal clear. It turns out the Parade story was penned by none other than Redbook's "Sex and the Single Mom" blogger Emily Listfield. And Emily, it seems, is not exactly liked by other women. Famous or otherwise!

Back on November 9, for example, Emily wrote a post about leaving her thirteen-year-old daughter at home for an hour while she attended a dinner party "so I could go scout the party, i.e., see if there were any eligible men."

Within milliseconds of posting the story (okay! so we exaggerate!) the mommy-floggers began weighing in, accusing Emily of lacking "focus", being "a poor example", "whoring around", acting "like a boy-crazy 13-year-old." And quoting Dr. Laura. At length!

And today comes Emily's confession, the morning of a dinner benefit at her daughter's school, that she has not a single friend among the other Mommies:

If you think high school cliques were bad, they were nothing compared to this crowd. Maybe it's because my daughter started in the school in a later grade, but I have found it nearly impossible to make a single friend there - the other parents have all known each other since kindergarten.

Hmm, unless "the other parents have all known each other since kindergarten," means "I fucked one of the Daddies in the handicapped restroom after a bake sale for the kindergarten class", we're not sure we understand the other Mommies' big problem with Emily. We mean, she's a fucking WIDOW, people!
