More on this month's Vanity Fair:
One thing we love about the magazine is its willingness (unlike other Conde Nast titles) to publish less-than-flattering letters in response to its usually-flattering stories about celebrities.
Take this letter from Terry Hernon MacDonald of Shelton, Connecticut, who wrote in regarding the January issue's pictorial/article about Dakota Fanning.
As the mother of a 12-year-old girl, I enjoyed the pictorial of little Dakota Fanning ["Cinderella in Sneakers," by Jim Windolf, January]. Then it occurred to me: just six years from now you will ask her to take off her clothes and put her on your cover.
The letter is made even better by the fact that it sits opposite a creepy ad for the sex-doll-comes-to-life campaign for "Barbie Loves M.A.C."
