2018's Hottest Celebrity Trend Is Hiding a Child

How does one announce a celebrity pregnancy? You can take professional photographs, perhaps publish them in a magazine. You can announce it on SNL, like Cardi B, or casually post about it on Instagram, like Chrissy Teigen.

Or you can just not tell anyone! Hide it for as long as you can! Never acknowledge your baby at all!

First, there was Kylie Jenner, who waited up until the very last minute to announce she was pregnant in February, 2018. She dodged tabloid rumors, paparazzi photos, and official family Christmas cards, all to hide her baby bump until she could post her mini-documentary on the whole pregnancy.

Then there was Drake who, to quote Pusha T, was “hiding a child” with Sophie Brussaux. That existence of that baby, who we now know is named Adonis, was confirmed lateron Drake’s album Scorpion. “I wasn’t hiding my kid from the world, I was hiding the world from my kid,” he rapped on “Emotionless.”

And then there were the even quieter celebrity pregnancies. In November Page Six reported that Adam Driver has secretly been a father for two years, saying nothing about his son. Jessica Chastain reportedly had a baby girl seven months ago, Rachel McAdams kept her pregnancy a total secret, and Donald Glover casually mentioned he had another baby on the way in his Emmys acceptance speech this year.

Are these really close-guarded secrets, or are we just not looking hard enough? Either way, 2018’s hottest celeb trend was hiding your baby for as long as you can.
