Your BFF Cory Booker Easily Won the New Jersey Senate Primary

Latest

Cory Booker just locked down the Democratic nomination for one of New Jersey’s United States Senate seats. With the vote still being counted, the AP projected a win by Booker, who had a wide lead over his nearest challenger, Representative Frank Pallone. Come October, it’s most likely buh-bye Newark, and hello Mr. Senator.

As the New York Times reports:

[A] heavy favorite to win the October general election in an overwhelmingly Democratic state that has not sent a Republican to the Senate in four decades. That would make him the country’s only elected black senator.

In the special general election in October, Booker will almost certainly face Steven M. Lonegan, a former mayor of Bogota, N.J. and gubernatorial candidate. But basically: Next stop U.S. Senator, after that: PRESIDENT OF THE WORLD.
