I know that headline sounds nonsensey, but it's actually exactly what happens in the mesmerizing short film above. Also, I didn't even mention the part where she transforms into the sparkling, indifferent void of the universe itself, so quit cryin'.

Body painter/makeup artist Emma Allen created this gorgeous stop motion video—which she calls an animated self-portrait—over the course of five days, taking nearly 800 still photographs of her ever-changing painted face. Allen transforms herself, slowly, into middle age, then old age, then death, and after that you should really just watch it.

For my part, I'll be over here, still trying to figure out how to put on fucking eyeliner without looking like a cartoon robber.
