Funny that so many people over the world seem to talk about this and so few people in Germany (I'm from Berlin) seem to care...

I personally think any person in the world should be wearing what he or she likes BUT should be aware that if you're in a certain position, an "open-hearted" outfit like this can cause the feeling of inappropriateness for even very tolerant people.

And a fun fact on the side:
From the view of a German, you almost never see our Angie doing something for internal politics, she's just strutting around all over the world to get nice PR pictures. But hey, this way you don't do anything wrong! And then, during the EM (European Soccer Championship) when everyone just cares about soccer, you can really go for increasing taxes for the working class, but cutting back taxes for the big corporations, just like you did two years ago during the world cup! Maybe this time you also could go for even stricter immigrant regulations AND make it even harder for young women to work when they have kids (because women have to stay home, that's clear!), just as so many of you (male) party-mates suggest? Go Angela!

Well, on one hand, I'm totally ogling the cleavage. And not just any cleavage either - it's the cleavage of a 25 year lingerie model, not a (how old is she?) 40-50 year old woman. Really nice skin to go with it is my point - no sun spots or skin imperfections.

On the other hand, I have to agree with those posters who question the appropriateness of it. I know that we should, as feminists and women, be able to wear whatever we damn well like and expect to be noticed only for our brains and sparkling personalities, but the world does not work like that. And even if she's only getting 1 extra vote by showing these off (and you know there are guys out there who will vote for her because of her tits, because some guys are just like that), then I don't think that's the way women should get ahead in the world. We can't simultaneously scream when any guy plays the gender card, and then pull out a tit when we need a little up, you know?

This debate reminds me of something I read a couple of days ago about a London law firm banning its female staff from wearing fishnet stockings to work. Did anybody see that, and if so, what are you opinions? (sorry hortense, not trying to hijack the post, I think it's related. Also, I've named my african violet after you, so ... whatever.)
