I disagree with you about her not hurting her. I think the closest to her level of tearing him down would be Bush vs Reagan where Bush referred to "voodoo economics" during the primary debates. You still hear about that!!

And that is nothing compared to saying your opponent is less prepared to be prez than the GOP candidate...while your ex press hubby is either questioning his patriotism compared to McCain or playing the race card...while calling McCain a moderate and praising him for his views on global warming. He might as well be campaigning for McCain in the hillbilly countryside.

They've left space for plausible deniability...but I ain't that stupid. Like I said...if they contribute to his loss in 08 and then runs in 2012 I WILL NOT vote for her. I don't think I'll be the only one either.

After a bruising primary and convention where Ford narrowly beat Reagan for the nomination in 1976, he started almost 30 points down in the polls to Carter with 3 months to go to the general election. Ford came back strong to lose the general by 2%. Ford kept hammering away at Carter's inexperience and outsider status, which continued to work as Ford's numbers went up and Carter's went down. Many analysts believe that Ford could have beaten Carter if he had a couple more weeks to campaign. McCain on the other hand probably won't start the general campaign so deep in a hole.

JOHNSTOWN, PA -- Obama yesterday said that Sen. Patrick Leahy's call for Clinton to leave the race was premature, declaring that Clinton had a right to stay in the race as long as she wanted.

"Yeah. I hadn't talked to Pat about it," Obama said when asked about Leahy's comments and if it was a premature move on the part of his surrogates.

"My attitude is that Sen. Clinton can run as long as she wants. Her name is on the ballot. And she is a fierce and formidable competitor, and she obviously believes that she would make the best nominee and the best opponent," he said. "I think that you know she should be able to compete and her supporters should be able to support her for as long as they are willing or able."

Remember way back when Hilary was obviously in front and Michelle Obama made some kind of comment about how she would have to 'consider' supporting Hilary. There were many very strongly worded posts criticizing Michele, Barak and anybody even remotely in favour of Obama. They were labeled 'traitors' to the Democratic Party, accused of not being 'true Democrats' and were being blamed for the extended suffering of the United States under 'President McCain'. I've said it before and I'll say it again, what a difference a day makes. I like Hilary Clinton much less now than I did then and pray with all my heart that she is not the nominee. But if she's not and her supporters vote for McCain, well I just hope you all are REALLY rich. Because being comfortable isn't going to save you while McCain takes his Economy 101 lessons. And I hope that you'll be there to comfort the families of the thousands more American men and women who are senselessly slaughtered in Iraq. Not to mention the countless Iraqis.

But the majority of Democrats are all for this continuing. About 60%. It's only 22% in both camps that want the other to drop out. So really, it's a media falsehood that we apparently eat up that the Party is divided. Most of the Party is too busy working and feeding their families to get this worked up about it.
