@LAGirl: Two surviving bebbehs, my neighbors have one of them. He has a fat tummy, so he kinds of scoots along on it. Cute cute cute.

Their other cat is going through his first heat and tried to mate with both of my lady cats. The girls were having NONE of that, and put him in his place. Now he's all lovesick and cries at the door. I think they're taking him to get fixed today.

Re: Kitten moms rejecting/eating kittens who are handled - totes not true. I had a stray give birth in my sock drawer a couple of years ago, and ended up having to supplement feed a couple of the babies. She was absolutely fine with it (up to a certain point - if they sounded upset she would get up and meow at me until I gave them back).
But also; EEEEEE! Kitteh! Oh god, I miss my little black and white boys (and my grey and white boy). Damn grad school not letting me bring my kittehs!
