The first thing she'll do is try to back up to get away, but she can't because my legs are in the way.

Then I grab a paw, and clip away. I highly recommend the method, though it doesn't work as well for the back claws.

He squeaked when he jumped up or down from things, or if you picked him up wrong, which didn't happen too often on account of his being a kitty brontosaurus. If he got on your lap, your whole lower half would go numb. And he had to have a running start to jump onto the couch, lest he run straight into it. My mom totally had a Maury-style fat baby enabling relationship with him.
