And you can split hairs and say he was not "technically" a scab because he came back to work as the show's producer and did not "write" any of the material he used (basically claiming the entire show was improv). However, the notion that he was forced back to work is not persuasive to me. That's what a STRIKE is... though it is a different format, I find Saturday Night Live or The Office to be most analagous - shows where much of the cast also writes. All of the writers and/or actors on those shows said, fuck off, we are in solidarity with our union. I don't know - the whole situation was/is close to impossible, but I thought a lot of other similarly affected people handled it better.

But I don't know if all of his other admittedly fantastic qualities make me love him again? I haven't watched TDS since his first monologue back when he chose to publicly attack his union instead of choose that moment to pithily scold his corporate overlords.

I won't completely hijack this post to debate "is he" or "isn't he." A lot of people in this town (Hollywood) had very torn response to him. My feelings come generally from a sense of, I don't know, disappointment more than anything else.
