For the record, I thought she came across incredibly well, not the Ice-Queen I thought she would be! Her daughter was there too, so jealous of that girl's style.

I'm on Team Carine! Just the site of Wintour makes me recoil and she has indeed become a foolish-looking puppet. So did Diana Vreeland, of course and a lot of those editors have their iconic looks, but Anna's little birdy features piss me off. It would be one thing if the magazine was amazing, but it's not. I recently breezed through an issue of French Vogue and I enjoyed it a lot more, even though my French is 8th grade level.

having just returned from l.a. two days ago, i can say with authority that it's much more "fashionable" than my hometown of denver. i stuck out like a sore thumb in west hollywood, with my CO-approved uniform of t-shirt, columbia fleece, jeans and converse hi-tops.

which was fine with me, because everyone else looked exactly the same: black leggings, drapey shirt, mondo jewelry, big "ironic" sunglasses, ballet flats. sometimes -- gasp! -- there were boots. or maybe skinny jeans, which look good on 2% of the population, but don't let that stop you. wear boot-cut at your own peril.

It seems like every so often a major fashion mag like Vogue or Elle will do a story on fashion on cities outside of NY/LA, and they are always SHOCKED when they find that women outside these cities are not walking around barefoot and in overalls.
