Like Jezebelacious said, it's got really powerful roots - it comes from the same word as "cuneiform," because only women, as priestesses, knew how to read - it's founded in words for goddess and priestess. So it's amazing that way. Plus, I love reclaiming language, because it's the only way to really have power over it instead of it having power over you, and I'm all about that. Plus plus, I think it's the sexiest bedroom word for vagina. So there you go. =)

And I can't believe Today fucking APOLOGIZED for Jane Fonda referring to "the monologue called 'cunt.'" Fuck them. It's the TITLE. That's like banning "Huckleberry Finn" from classrooms. Jesus. Get over it.

I don't feel this way because it's another word for vagina, so it's not like I'm grossed out by it, I just... I don't know... that's sort of the way it was introduced to me and I can't get past it. I've never used it.

I did a double take when Jane said the word but I didn't think most people noticed. Once Meredith appologized I rewound my Tivo to listen to it again! I also thought saying we'd never to anything to offend our viewers is funny, because I feel like my intelligence is insulted by Today almost every morning i.e. this mornings "What the flowers he sends you mean about his feelings."
