Another one of the cultural observations (stereotypes? Ah, but they're so much fun!) I always find interesting is the attitude here towards American girls. So many guys I've met in London, whether English, Irish, Aussie, South African, etc, have remarked that we Yankees are more fun to date than our British counterparts. Sure, part of this comes from the fact that they also think we're easy, but all in all I find I've done much better boy-wise in the UK than I ever did in the US.

I think there are certain aspects of the traditional British male (the kind of stereotype, which is, yes, a class and ethnicity issue too) that are quite charming, if baffling. Their glee at any chance to dress in drag is worrying on the one hand but at least funny. In my experience, having lived in both the US and UK (and in the most rareified, British part of Britain), I find young British men to be generally more self-deprecating, less homophobic and a LOT wittier. This is very much anecdotal but I was never much of a fan of American college boys, they always seemed to take themselves way too seriously. Yes we've got our obnoxious rugby lads (and let's not get started on footballers), but I just can't imagine an American guy showing the same unbridled and genuine enthusiasm for High School Musical that some of my very manly British rugby playing friends do...

Interesting. I've found American men (the bulk of my personal 'study') to be a mixed bag--some bad, some good, some excellent, as one might expect.

The four brits--all bad. One was a fancy public school, rich londoner. Bad. One guy was blue-collar from New Castle. Couldn't understand a word he said; also bad. Another Londoner who didn't seem to be super rich, but definitely not on the skids. Bad. And just to mix it up, an Irish plumber. Worst of all. I was afraid he had broken my who-ha. They were all sweet and charming for various reasons and there was nothing wrong with them as human beings (the Irishman had a little coke problem, but that's not so terrible) and a couple of them I even dated for a while. They were just really bad in bed.

Again, these are just my personal results, being shared in the name of science. I'm sure your British husband/fiance/boyfriend is entirely different story. Perhaps the good lays are just snatched up more quickly :)
