I missed the bit about the video starting with Adele being introduced by Gwyneth Paltrow, so when the first thing I saw was the back of a white girl with a blonde ponytail looking a lot thinner than Adele was last I saw her, I went "HOLY SHIT, IS SHE OKAY?? THAT'S A LOT OF WEIGHT TO LOSE QUITE QUICKLY. I DIDN'T KNOW SHE'D BEEN SO ILL. D: D:"

I posted a couple weeks back about one of my roommates who has taken to having someone stay with her pretty much all the time. Turns out it's her cousin (I assumed it was a family member) and she apologized for forgetting to mention that he was staying that weekend (I mentioned that he had been there seemingly longer and she conceded to him arriving Thursday...without mentioning that he had been there through Monday the previous weekend).

Well this week she sends an email that he may or may not be staying Thursday night. Turns out he does, and they both loudly shuffle in at 2 am on a worknight when me and the other roommate are sleeping. I end up not getting back to sleep before my 5:30 alarm and so I'm pretty grouchy going into the weekend. Sunday evening rolls around and the guest is still here (mind you, I've never seen his face even though he's been here lots--she hides him in her room) so I email her about setting up a time to discuss the situation (an email she doesn't' take too kindly to and at first responds in a sarcastic manner (she's 32 and *should* be more mature) and denies what I know. That her cousin has been staying here since Thursday when she only mentioned Thursday as an option. Turns out they just arrived home and so now he's staying 4 nights without discussing with me or the other roommate.

I'm really annoyed with it (although keeping it in perspective after reading gawker's horrific thread on awful roommates...) and find it awfully disrespectful, especially since it's a household of women and she has this random guy staying here, and I know at least once he was here alone when I got back from work. Not much to ask other than we're meeting tomorrow night and I hope she's not going to be a total ass about it since she's been the one sneaking around and not being a good roommate. #groupthink

So, you said you left the date thinking he might not be that into you. Do you remember why you felt that way? I've always found that those tiny voices in the back of my head are usually spot-on.

Anyway, of COURSE it's better to be told, "hey, you're great, but I didn't feel that spark." I think for some people (aka, the dipshits), it's easier to avoid the confrontation. He's a hs teacher; he's used to drama, and he was probably afraid of a freakout, even if it was an online one. And so, he just ignored you.

You sound really smart and thoughtful. I am sure you'll meet someone.

And about Valentine's Day. So they're all cute. How many of them are completely miserable in their relationships? It's the ones that are happy that I'm jealous of - I suppose it's my luck that i don't know any happy couples.
