Sorry, selfie stick enthusiasts, but the number of places where your selfie sticks are welcome continues to shrink. The latest no-go zone: Wimbledon.
That’s according to CNN, pointing to this passage in instructions for ticket holders: “In common with many other major sports and entertainment events and cultural attractions, The Championships will not allow ‘selfie sticks’ into the grounds.” And so, here is a helpful but non-exhaustive list of places your selfie stick is banned:
- New York’s MoMA. Also, according to People, Boston’s MFA, indoors at the Getty Center in California, and at the Cooper-Hewitt Design Museum. Ditto the National Gallery in London.
- Coachella and Lollapalooza
- The Smithsonian
- The Colosseum, in Rome
- Versailles, in France
- Various stadiums
- Courtside at the Australian Open
A directory of further bans is available here, at Yahoo. Proceed with caution before taking your selfie stick, well, anywhere.
