Viola Davis Is Not Pleased That Melania Trump Gets Any Pleasure From Her Show

Latest

Jimmy Kimmel opened his interview with Viola Davis on Thursday night by asking her about Melania Trump’s apparent fandom for How To Get Away With Murder. She was kind of pissed he asked the question, but seems more mad at the idea of Melania enjoying her show at all than at Kimmel.

The phrase “if you have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything” is actually visible on Davis’s face as she struggles to find a way to answer that can be aired on cable. Kimmel switches gears a little and asks if she’d have the first lady on the show in a walk-on role. To that, Davis says, after some thought, yes.

“Because you know what, I really want to talk to the lady. I really do,” she says.

Kimmel is still trying to pretend Melania deserves sympathy for some reason, and wonders if Davis is happy she’s giving a woman who is “a captive in her own home” some “pleasure” once in a while. Poor, sad Melania, all tucked in under a gold blanket momentarily transported from her hellish existence she has zero autonomy in by an ep of HTGAWM.

“No, I just want the inside scoop, I don’t want to give her any sort of pleasure,” Davis answer. “She and I can have some vodka together.”

That’s generous. Melania should not get the reward of a one-on-one chat with Viola Davis.
