Trevor Noah and Irish Comedians Urge Marriage Equality in Ireland

Latest

Trevor Noah and some other people did a video called “Stand Ups For Yes” in support of marriage equality in Ireland for the country’s historic national vote on Friday.

Those other people featured in the viral campaign include talk show host Stephen Fry and comedians like Katherine Ryan, Jimmy Carr and Jason Byrne, who all encouraged the citizens of Ireland to vote to legalize same-sex marriage.

In this charming clip, my BF Noah says, “My advice to you is to take this opportunity to give them the pain and suffering that every other married person has. Why should gay people have all the fun?” If I was next to him at the time, I would’ve told him to come up with a more original joke, but I was somewhere else.

Fry jokes, “I don’t know if I’m in favor of gay marriage myself…my husband is.”
