Tina Fey Strips Down to Her Spanx on Letterman

“When you retire, this is it,” proclaimed Tina Fey on her final Letterman appearance before Dave hits the road. “I’m never going to wear a fancy dress on a talk show again.”

Not in homage, per se, but in celebration: because wearing fancy shit for television is a pain in the damn ass. “I don’t know if you’re aware of the contraptions under here, it’s almost medical. I’m terrible in heels. I dress up like this out of respect for you,” she continued. “What, am I gonna put a dress on for Jimmy? That’s creepy, he’s like my brother.”

And because of the aforementioned respect, Fey decided to gift Dave Letterman with said dress, a token of thanks for all of his years of the super-hard labor that is hosting a late night talk show. Of course, underneath, said contraptions—Spanx, a bra, and some sort of leotard jammer that she appeared to wear for the purpose of lettering with “BYE DAVE!” and, of course, hashtagging “#lastdressever” on the bum. Okay!
