This weekend, over 2,500 people peacefully assembled and demonstrated in protest of the death of Eric Garner, an unarmed black man who was killed when a white New York City police officer used an illegal chokehold on him. The officer stopped Garner, the 43-year-old father of six, for selling loose cigarettes.
Hundreds of people gathered at the spot where Eric Garner was confronted by the police, chanting "Hands up, don't shoot," and later, "I can't breathe," reports Nate Schweber.
No arrests have been made.
