Tebow Response Video: "We Celebrate Families…By Trusting Women."

Nearly 100 million people usually watch the Super BowlPlanned Parenthood video response to the Tebow ad so far clocks in at under 500 views. Let’s hasten that new media revolution, shall we?

The spot stars former professional football player Sean James and gold medalist Al Joyner. It’s clear from the language that Planned Parenthood has been listening to criticisms that the campaign against the Focus on the Family-sponsored Tim Tebow ad smacked of censorship.

Says James, “I respect and honor Mrs. Tebow’s decision.” Joyner picks it up: “I want my daughters to live in a world where everyone’s decisions are respected.” James continues, “My mother taught me that women are strong and wise. She taught me that only women can make the best decisions about their health and future.” And Joyner closes by saying, “We celebrate families by supporting our mothers. By supporting our daughters. By trusting women.”

It’s also in evidence in the statement from Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards’ statement:

“Planned Parenthood urges all Americans to ponder the true meaning of the Tebow family’s experience – one in which a woman was presented with medical and moral considerations and made a deeply personal decision in private without government interference. That is exactly what we want every woman to be able to do when she must make important and highly personal medical decisions.”
