    1. This is my second favorite historical assault, right after Congressman Preston Brooks beating Senator Charles Sumner with his cane, right on the floor of the Senate. (Which led to the creation of the Preston Brooks Anti-Sass Society)

    There are very few times I think violence is an appropriate recourse. Physical defense of the innocent is one. Fighting for your right to a voice in a representative democracy is another.
