Actually, I think Katie only kinda *wishes* she could wear that, and that's it's something of an insult to the "new fashion at the Country Club" to suggest that Katie Holme's silly outfit even resembles it.
@Tart of Darkness: is anybody here old enough to remember the Williamsburg Room at B. Altmans? I went there when I was little and I swear it looked just like this.
My favorite is the one from '29 with the hound- totally have family pictures like that from that era. My grandmother's aunt was the cook at a very prominent estate in Massachusetts during the 20s, so we have books filled with very glamorous pictures.
I also did my high school thesis on feminism and 1920s clothing.
