I love my sister but not that much. I'll hold the baby but that's it.

They can do what they want it's just that I was eating when I saw that picture and the words "placenta" and put two and two together and-

Oh my lord, this is one of the times I am so glad to be a vegetarian and kind of wish I were vegan. Any time I see something like this, I just feel confirmed in my choice not to eat flesh. Yack.

@LawrenceLiverless: In my book, not much. I have to scramble the shit out of those suckers and fry them until they're bone dry, and then I don't dare allow myself to think that they're EGGS or else I'll puke.

Don't ask me what I do with red meat. Placenta is completely out of the question.

It sounds like a fun idea! You don't get many chances in life to try placenta.

I'm glad they took pictures, because I don't think I'd have the stomach to eat my own. I applaud their bravery.

I had my baby on February 1 and my midwife was super impressed with my placenta, claiming it was "the most impressive and interesting placenta she had seen in decades". It's still in my freezer in a little BIOHAZARD ziploc bag. I totally understand not wanting to just throw it away, it really is amazing. But I am not planning on eating it. It's probably got freezer burn anyway.

@goldenmonkey: I dunno. We don't generally eat stem cells with pasta, and breast milk seems to be in a different "for consumption" category, but when we start talking about organs and whatnot... it crosses a line to me.

My thought was "being the only organ that the human body makes that naturally exits the body, why not take advantage of it?"
Just like how I swallowed my baby teeth, tonsils and appendix. Had to get them thangs back in there somehow. Also, the lumpy part of your period=delicious.
