Yes, there is a Santa Claus. And he don't tolerate this shit.

I would like some country justice for this pervert.

In Australia, "rockspiders" usually get separated from gen. pop. from the get go. But I imagine they do things differently in Texas!

Now I'm crying AND I want to break something.

Very sad that this happened, but how brave of the girl to admit to it, and it's good that he won't be hurting her anymore. I hope this girl and her sister have a great Christmas.
Also...FUCK people who mess with children. I hope you rot.

I'm in tears :( So, incredibly sad.
But that little girl is a hero. I'm so proud of her.

The asrticle says he may have been touching them for four years. At least they're safe now.

I hope those two have an amazing Christmas from here on out. Using your Santa letter to ask for help instead of a Barbie or a bike is a really brave thing to do.

I just hope Santa can stretch to some therapy too!

Maybe something good like that will help overcome the bad stuff in her life. I just hope no one let slip about the real Santa situation...

I really wonder if this will start a new trend - of analysis of these letters. So many kids have imaginary friends growing up, and Santa is one that so many are encouraged to have - it makes you stop and think about who children feel safe confiding to. Thank goodness also that the school in a small-ish town was able to put aside the small-town tendency to cover things up, and intervene.
Given the bail, it sounds like there may be strong evidence. I hope she and her sister can manage to have better lives, in spite of what must be a very confusing and horrific past. I really hope they don't have to spend their holidays with CPS and that there's some fit loved-one in their extended family who can take them in.
And props to you, Gherkinfiend - these girls would definitely benefit from therapy, so they don't grow up to be adults who either abuse, or suffer a long line of failed relationships, themselves. For abuse to go on so long, at so young an age, it's very likely that they'll have a lot to work through.
