What a strange definition of personality. Are they saying that a dude who comes home from work every day and drinks beer and scratches his balls while watching ESPN is exhibiting more personality than someone who goes to a museum, writes poetry, hangs with friends, runs, watches TV, etc. etc. because BallScratcher McCoorsDrinker is more consistent and predictable in his behavior?
If that's the case, then I'll be happy to have the personality of a dishrag.
From what I've learned in college psych, personality as predictable behaviors doesn't mean what you actively DO, necessarily, but more of how you repeatedly react to things. Like me for instance, I pretty much always get defensive when criticized, so that's a part of my personality. So the collection of your typical reactions to different situations would be considered your personality.
@Tippi Hedren: That's what I thought... I mean, at its worst, consistency is just plain boring, which sure doesn't constitute personality as far as I'm concerned.
Biotechnology is going to change the world as we know it. So I wish we could have conversations now, about what should be legal and what shouldn't be. Embryo selection for instance: France is the only country currently legislating against embryo selection on physical or sexual criteria for In Vitro.
I rejoice for cancer victims but I can't lie, I think we're heading down a dangerous way and I wish people would talk about it. #breastcancer
Story's like this just make me amazed at what humans are capable of discovering.
Anecdote: My mom had open heart surgery and when they cut open her chest, her breastbone shattered. They reconstructed the bone using a mesh cylinder that, yep, biodegrades over the course of a decade. AWESOME. #breastcancer
@XandraMatchbox: Doctors can reconstruct using implants, but some may feel they don't look as natural. If it helps a cancer survivor with her self esteem, why not? #breastcancer
@frankie22: But some people have their breasts removed without having cancer at all, because of the risk associated with breast tissue if there are genetic factors that put them at risk for cancer. Wouldn't new breast tissue have the same risks, especially in a person who had already had cancer? #breastcancer
@samethingwedoeverynightpinky: That's very true. I didn't think of that. I guess, ideally it would be available to women who were in a low risk category of the cancer returning? #breastcancer

Sorry, what was that drivel about personalities? I sees a cute kitteh.
What if your personality is based in being consistently unpredictable? What about that, huh?
