I am about to say something that will probably freak some people here out. Different countries have different standards about what meats are acceptable to be ate or not.

I have never and will never eat a cat or dog so don't yell at me please but I do know that in other countries that it is done. Just as in some countries they consider the cow to be sacred. Horse meat is ate in some countries while in the US it is considered a no no.

What some people may consider as perfectly normal and ordinary to them would be disgusting or totally foreign to somebody else.

How am I supposed to explain to my cat that his dinner tonight is sea kitten? He's a carnivore, not a cannibal!

*sigh* does anyone else remember the days when PETA did useful activist stuff? Now they just seem crazy and annoying. I mean, trying to convince people not to eat fish because fish are cute is not useful.

Peta are crazy, no really, I mean they have a good cause but please sea kitten, no stop with your stupid cutsey names, stop, everything doesn't have to be cuddly wuddly and kisses and bunnies and talking down to people. Fish are fish. I like them more than cats personally. I hope a shark eats all the stupid sea kitten endorsers. They are despoiling the English language.

On a different note, man pregnancy is making me kind of mean.

@emilyanne: It's cool. Between having your internal organs shoved around and random strangers trying to touch your belly, meanness is merited, I think. I view 100% jolly pregnant people with suspicion.

@NotIt: good point. Although my first pregnancy I was generally in a better mood and just indulged my tendency towards anti-socialness. This one seems to me making me filled with irritation to all manner of trivial things from PETA to the existence of Wikipedia. It can't be long before I beat up a chair. Or throw my shoes at the door for no reason.

My big brother adores fish. Absolutely loves them. Feels guilty when he eats them.

Once, we were watching Deadliest Catch and one of the crewman punched a fish. Bro got exceedingly pissed off.

Also, Bro eats meat and wears leather. Suck it, PETA.

@somuch: Well, but you still don't eat cats, even though you hate them. The idea is for people to equate the idea of eating fish with the idea of eating cats. Not liking an animal and not eating it are two entirely different things.

@Klobasa, Esq: Octopus gets promoted to leg-fish, horseshoe crabs will be moved up to shelly-octopus, and the sea slug shall henceforth be known as the ugly crab.

We don't really need anything to fill in for sea slugs.
