    @meloroast: I hate to admit it, but I've become a total wedding cake snob since my wedding. It takes a pretty awesome cake to impress me. The crab cake impressed. The others, eh.

    My wedding cake is going to look like that one! Except buttercream, not fondant, and with a mini-LOVE statue on the top (we met in Philly).


    Also, "OnLove...bringing the sexy back to the capital as only they can: celebrities, sex, and fashion."


    Hehe. Because no other publication brings those kinds of things to the world.


    Can we have a Jezebrides section on the site? Because I have a feeling fellow Jezzies getting married would generally have kick-ass kind of weddings.

    @muppetprincess: I was just talking about this last night with some friends as we were watching Ace of Cakes. I think it is a smaller cake, traditionally dark chocolate (while the wedding cake is traditionally white). I could be WAY wrong but I seem to have heard that somewhere.

    @muppetprincess: Generally it's an accompaniment cake...the purpose is somewhat nebulous, but it's supposed to be kind of a more fun/creative, sometimes darker cake.


    Ours will be three bundt cakes stacked on each other (they get progressively smaller, forming a little mountain shape). Lego Agents figures will be having a spy/bad guy battle on the mountain.

    @muppetprincess: Have you not seen Steel Magnolias?


    It's generally a more whimsical cake in a different flavor from the main cake. It's usually placed at a different table from the wedding cake or served at the rehersal dinner. It's very, very Southern. Single women are supposed to sleep with a slice under their pillow to dream about their future husband.

    @hfree: Oh God, I haven't seen Steel Magnolias in decades - all I remember is crying my eyes out. Sleeping with cake sounds good, though. Maybe I'll try sleeping with cake and my husband, though I won't share the cake.

    @muppetprincess: My mom and friends, who are awesome, went to the Lego store and worked with someone to make sure they could make bride and groom Lego people as the topper for that cake. Some of the other Agents may be in tuxes. As for the others, they'll probably be dressed like this (look closely). And yes, the sharks will be included.

    When I was commuting on the metro every day, I'd always read the free paper put out by the Post. My favorite section was the wedding announcements on Fridays. It was always so sappy and made me smile.
