I really don't think Polly was ever having rockin' sex with a man named Kevin who was already predisposed to dullness. Good thing she doesn't have to give up the pottery. In the sequel, I suspect she and Josh get dirty.

John Johnson? Ann Andrews? Bob Roberts? Mike McMichaels? Dan Daniels? Ed Edwards? Alllllright, sorry. That's about all I'm good for right now. I just really like the sound of "Sven Svenson". See how many you can come up with!! Also, I've never used a potters' wheel, but it looks like something I could really get into. Mainly because it's messy, so I could pass it off as a hobby but it would just be an excuse to make a horriffic mess.

Sven Svenson is my generic Swedish hearthrob name. :) Perhaps I read this book at sometime in my past.

Also- my mother's side of the family is Swedish, and Sven Svenson wouldn't be that odd a name, its kinda like John Smith, Jr.

I totally want to read this damn book. I like pottery & stories about triumphing over family constraints. I'm insane. I apologize now.

I would pop some wine & snuggle up with this book one evening. FUN.TIMES!

@KathrynwithaY loves Joan Collins: Oh, I had exactly the same thought. Enid, the frumpy but dependable friend. Who in the Senior Year books became a goth 'zine editor, before going off to college to become an alcoholic sorority girl named Alex and--if memory serves--screwing Todd Wilkins, who quickly became the town bicycle once the Zetas got him on board.

And I still don't even know some of my husband's first cousins' names yet. That I have known for a dozen years.

People were debating about gender-neutral terms for significant others the other day. What ever happened to 'steady'? I'm officially reviving the term.

@Rhymeswithfeather: Going steady sounds great - let's definitely revive it. I'll see if I can get minisparks & her friends to say it. I'll just pepper it into conversation. They won't know, they're 5.
