@emilyanne: Yeah, I'd like Venus to win, because the relationship she has with Wimbledon is so special. I was saying to my husband today that Venus is alwys so gracious whereas Serena can get quite stroppy when she's losing, and that is typical for a younger sister. I then said she's a fighter because she always wants attention, doesn't ever like being in her older sister's shadow...at which point my husband said "Are you talking about Serena or YOUR sister?" So yeah, I think I may be projecting a little...

@heykoukla: ha I'm the older sister too and I'm always saying the same sort of thing. We're clearly projecting together. But i do love watching Venus play on grass, she plays with such freedom on that surface and I find it interesting that she never looks quite as comfortable at say the US Open where Serena is clearly more at home.

These women have worked their entire lives to achieve something that no one else has, and have maintained a great relationship and supported each other through wins and losses. They are role models to women and girls everywhere. And you are tearing them down for no reason. I love Serena and Venus, but I do have to say that I wish someone else would come along who could actually present a real challenge for them. At this point I find watching them play each other boring, since their style is almost identical. I'm ready for some other strong female tennis players.

@laureltreedaphne: I don't think it's fair to call their style identical. On grass in particular Venus is effortless and elegant where Serena has to battle more for each point as their semi finals show. I agree that it would be great if there was more competition within the women's side however - Dementieva today ensured a great semifinal, sadly Safina can not cope with Venus at all.

@laureltreedaphne: See, I don't think their styles are identical at all. And Venus is very different (and more dominant) on grass then other surfaces. Plus, it's good tennis (though Serena's match today is one of the best I've ever seen.)

(Not like it's not like we Yanks can't screw up. Remember USO men's semis last year, with the scheduling mess and the weather, and people racing back and forth between courts? Ow ow ow. I'm usually really proud to say I'm from NYC, but ... *hides face*)
