I still don't understand how some people just flat-out HATE Martha. She seems like she doesn't take herself too seriously despite being a perfectionist. But I'm biased because I got nothing but love for my Martha. #uncle
@JessickerFletcher: I love her, too. I watch her show sometimes in the morning. One time she randomly called Snoop Dog just to say hi. Another time she was cooking with Ludacris (who admitted he doesn't really cook) and she kept talking with him about music stuff to the point that he was like, "you're really into hip hop" and she was like, "yeah, I love it. I work out to it and get the audience warmed up with it every day." I find her charmingly in control, but adventuresome and quite the risk taker. She's kinda cool. #uncle
@HidingInCanada: The "whole insider trading thing" did really bother me at first, especially because her/her lawyer's actions gave off the whole "I'm rich and shouldn't be held to the same standards as everyone else" vibe, but in the end she served her time and it really was a victimless crime so her and I are still cool. #uncle
@JessickerFletcher: Man, victimless? I don't know about that. It pisses me off that someone like her would be sentenced for such a short time, when a brown person who robs a convenience store can be sent away for years. Her crimes have probably affected more people.
And it also drove me crazy how non-chalant she (and EVERYONE else) seemed to be about the whole thing -- remember how her first post-prison appearance was all about how she "wore a poncho", and how no one talked at all about what she did?
I guess a large part of it is that I just don't get her personal appeal. Like, I laughed along with everyone else at the Snoop Dogg appearance, but I don't get why anyone would really want to spend more time on her than they need to. #uncle
@HidingInCanada: At the time that happened, I was occassionally temping in finance. Numerous guys, for no apparent reason, told me if she was a man she never would have gotten in trouble. I think the class/race issue remains, but she didn't kill anyone or pull a Bernie Madoff. #uncle
She already shared this on her show, with Fran Drescher of all people, while making some pancake/cake hybrid.
She always flirts with these hosts (Leno, Letterman, King). I find it adorable, esp. as a complement to her seemingly tightly-wound personality. #uncle
@femaledwightschrute: God, can you imagine Fran Descher as a cougar? Not as the slang term cougar but as the actual animal. Imagine what sounds she would make!
@JessickerFletcher: Fran was actually the one who brought it up. They were talking about dating guys. She was the one who got Martha to spill the beans! #uncle
@lolabee: My sister was once at an event where Martha was the keynote speaker. Martha commented, "I'm still friends with every guy I've ever dated," and my sister quipped to her tablemates, "That's because she sends thank-you notes after sex." #uncle

I don't understand how sexism plays into Martha's sentencing whatsoever. Someone needs to make that case for me.
And yeah, compared to the epic feats of douchebaggery we saw in 2008, I'd say Martha's crimes were pretty minor. #uncle
