i never really liked jennifer, she squealled too much and overused 'like' and 'totally' which generally grated on my nerves. and she always looks like shes trying to catch flies in her mouth in her pictures.
ive been team nicole from the first episode, but laura has always been my second favorite. i think nicole SHOULD win and has more potential, but i wont be upset either way (as much as one can get upset over the results of a mediocre reality tv show). i think i like nicole because she seems really determined and thoughtful, but isn't arrogant (like erin was). #americasnexttopmodelhulahiphop
@OneTwoPunch: I don't know about that. I watched the premiere episode of a "Bachelor"-style show called "A Double Shot at Love" where bisexual identical twins tried to find a boyfriend or girlfriend for each of them. The contestants were brought onto the program in crates labeled "BOYS" and "GIRLS" that were dangled from helicopters. The twins took turns talking to the contestants the first night, wearing the same dress and leading the contestants to believe that there was only one woman they were competing for. At the end of the evening they did a Big Reveal.
It was so bizarre I got too uncomfortable watching it to follow the series. (And I'll watch "Celebrity Rehab" and "Tool Academy," just so you get an idea of where my trash-TV comfort level lies.) #americasnexttopmodelhulahiphop
I like Laura as a person and all but... her photo was absolutely awful. I know they set it up every season to make a certain girl (usually the most boring IMHO) win the competition, but wow... they couldn't have found a better shot of Laura? She had MAJOR crazy eyes in that photo, it sure wasn't pretty.
And I know for damn sure Nicole had a much better picture than the one they picked somewhere in her reel. I get fed up of the manipulation... though I should just expect it by now.
I know Erin's a bitch, but I reckon she's the only one who has a chance to make it in the high-end modelling world. She's got such a strong look, she's an individual. Isn't that what fashiony-types like? #americasnexttopmodelhulahiphop
@Diziet_Sma: I actually fond myself thinking: 'wow, maybe bloodyeyeball will actually be the first ANTM to actually have a career' then I remembered she can't walk. #americasnexttopmodelhulahiphop
@FattyCatty: I totally agree. And love the tyra voice used, this makes me happy and confuses me at the same time, usually my favourites get cut far to early and never ever win. I may spend the day over-enounciating every. single. word. I. say. #americasnexttopmodelhulahiphop
@FattyCatty: I tweeted pretty much this same thing (tyravoice and all) after the episode ended last night. I am just PSYCHED that at this point, I don't care who wins, because it's going to be one of the two that I've been rooting for since episode 1 no matter what! #americasnexttopmodelhulahiphop
I can't believe my favorites are actually the last two standing! If this meant something in the real world, I'd be happy for them. #americasnexttopmodelhulahiphop
The "hula hip-hop" was ridiculous. There wasn't any integration of the two dance styles, just hula to hula music followed by a record-scratch sound effect and hip-hop to hip-hop music. And the hip-hop resembled stripper moves more than anything else. It was stupid even by ANTM standards. #americasnexttopmodelhulahiphop
Okay, I'm going to say something that I know is completely ridiculous, but still: Given the situation he described, where it's a sperm donor (or donors) that you know and are friends/comfortable with and there are no apparent fertility issues, would anybody else try the ol' squish the contents of a used condom out and see if it takes route? I mean, aren't IUI and IVF really really expensive? Would anyone else be tempted to go the cheapo DIY artificial insemination first, or am I just disgusting? #jalexanderfather
@yvanehtnioj: Not at all! I know a lesbian couple whose daughter is the product of turkey baster insemination. The biological father and his wife are good friend with them, and they agreed to the arrangement readily. #jalexanderfather
@Confutatis Maledictis: Either we know the same couples, or it's more common than people realize. I also know two couples, one gay men, one gay women, who have children together and share joint custody like divorced parents do. I've never asked on the specifics of how the children were conceived though, lol. #jalexanderfather
I know it's ridiculous, but I read on some completely non-reputable website that he was actually straight and his flamboyant persona was just that- a persona he adopted for work and publicity.
I scratched my head for a long time on that one, because I knew it had to be wrong, but also I could believe it . . .
I never liked him much on ANTM because he always came off to me as negative and a bit rude. But my goodness if I didn't love him after this interview! Charming, thoughtful, interesting...can we transfer that to ANTM? #jalexanderfather
@Meglantine: My dislike of Jay stems far beyond his rudeness. When watching a rare Cycle 1 rerun-athon, it became patently clear that a once down-to-earth, straight shooting, albeit flamboyant man had opted to play up his camp season after season for maximum obnoxiousness. And for no other discernible reason than good, old-fashioned famewhoring. Boo. #jalexanderfather
@doit2julia: I think it's possible that he was playing down his natural persona in the first season because I'm sure no one was sure how a person like him would play on national tv. As it's become more obvious that the show's audience isn't put off by him, perhaps the real Miss J has simply emerged more? Things have changed a decent bit for gay acceptance in pop culture even since ANTM started, so I wouldn't blame Miss J just yet. #jalexanderfather
The more mistakes Mariah makes, the more I love her. That's one of the upsides of not having regular contact with her. Oh, if those Lisa Frank binders could talk... #tyrafaketoenails
In other TV news, has anyone else been plagued by those Idaho Potatoes commercials? I seldom watch daytime TV but I was sick so today was an exception. Anyway, there are these crazy commercials stressing the health benefits of Idaho potatoes ("not just any potatoes!") with this really raspy-voiced lady who pronounces Idaho like "eye-ho" and it drove me nuts (it could also be my cold). She also claims that "exercise and a diet with potatoes" help you to stay trim, which is true in some contexts but it nonetheless made me laugh because I can totally see somebody going to a grocery store, looking at potatoes, and remembering, "oh yeah, potatoes help you lose weight!" #tyrafaketoenails
