@Vivien Smith-Smythe-Smith: I have never liked Rachel Ray's persona on her show 30 Minute Meals. (See my comments on Jezebel's first post that mentioned this Martha / RR exchange as an example.) But I am really impressed with the way she handled that, too. I wish I'd watched that before my earlier comments.
@RenoDakota: We don't get Rachel Ray in NZ (at least, I don't think we do), but I always admire someone who can avoid rising to the bait, as she managed exceptionally well to, here
Listen Insider, I'm more surprised when Spencer Pratt: 1. Spells things correctly, and 2. Says decent, sensible things. Let me know when those things happen, OK?
I actually saw #6 when it was on the other night, and I think "But I'm still gonna keep you number one on my MySpace" has to be one of the all-time most hilarious lines to include in a break-up.
@Understater: Makes perfect sense - Martha is a perfectionist who knows that popularity doesn't always equal merit - and Rachel Ray is showing that even though she's good at what she does, she's not the master. What it boils down to is: Palin lacks Martha's eye for detail and fastidious nature, and Ray's honesty and humility.
One time my boyfriend invited me over to his place. It turned out what he did--which may not have been what he intended--was play a computer game for nine hours while I watched. Eventually I just started reading a book.
This has a happy ending though... I told him I wasn't happy with how the day had gone and that I wouldn't be coming over to watch that again. If he wanted to play something together, great, if he wanted to play something solo without me, that's fine too, but not this.
@redqueenmeg: It's nice that he agreed with you but it's a shame you even needed to go there. I wouldn't invite a friend or an acquaintance or a cousin over just to ignore them. Basic manners, people. #truelifeicantleavemyboyfriend
@melissa grey: True, true, and I think part of it was a function of age which was why I was willing to excuse it one time especially since he never did it again. He was 19. It would have been a lot less funny at 29 or 39.

I love and adore you. Will you adopt me so I can one day only bake with eggs I gathered with my own hands? Please?
Love, KKC
P.S. I already hand address all of my Christmas cards (on Crane naturally) and make hospital corners with my bedsheets.

He agreed it was dumb and never did it again. :) #truelifeicantleavemyboyfriend

Sadly, most people lack the initiative to do what they want and let others dictate what they want. Kudos to you! #truelifeicantleavemyboyfriend
