    Beyonce's outfit looked like something from the original "Planet of the Apes" or even worse, House of Dereon!!


    The demise of TRL wreaks havoc the stock houses, so many magazines used those photos on the TRL wall for celeb footage.

    I don't like the one song by Taylor Swift that I've heard, but I heard her on the radio talking about freaking out about Def Leppard and them having no idea who she was when she begged them to do that CMT Crossroads thing with her, and she seemed extremely likable and self-deprecating. I still don't know that I'd buy one of her albums, but she gets a pass on any booties she wants to wear because of it.

    @MisterMoonlight: i saw that cmt crossroads thing she did with def leppard this weekend. her singing 'pour some sugar on me' as a duet with the band was .......skeevy. they switched out the verses on 'photograph' so that she wouldn't have to sing the part about 'such a woman...', and she was earnest and geeky enough, but there was a lot of rock posturing going on with her, and she didn't really have the voice to match.

    My sole memory of TRL is the comment ticker, and a bunch of comments along the lines of "OMG 'MY HEART WILL GO ON' IS TOTALLY MY WEDDING SONG!!11!"


    Oh, and the wacky guy who won their VeeJay contest. Jesse? Anyone remember him? He freaked Carson out.

    @R_Claw...v.2.01 now comes with hope for the future.: Country singer. Pretty talented - I like a few of her songs and I'm not even into country. Plus she crosses over into mainstream pop quite a bit, so that's probably why you keep hearing about her.

    anyone else remember the email campaign that circulated at the height of the late 90s boyband build up that asked us all to vote for a new kids on the block video on Total Request Live (this was loooong before they abbreviated it to TRL), and it actually worked? I think it was like #2 that day. I totally participated in that ... as any 15 year old girl would have, i'm sure. I think I probably even still have it on a VHS tape somewhere at my parents' house.
