Tee-hee. Awesome! My boyfriend and I walked into a Gucci store once as a joke (seriously, it was a hipster-ironic gesture. we are sooo NOT Gucci people) and the black-clad sales people bounced us out with their disapproving sidelong glances in our general direction.

I went in because they started doing leather/canvas bags that were a little cheaper but just as hard-wearing because I desperately needed a new bookbag for Uni. I was WEARING a Radley that - at full retail - was worth more than the majority they had. And the salesperson decided I was too... individual to be seen around their bags and asked me to leave.

I left laughing and called my parents, who were in the mdidle of dropping a rather large amount on new suits in the mens dept for my Dad. They left without the suits and we haven't been back.

Also, I should point out I've had nothing but positive experiences in the London Radley-owned store. I just think the store staff - who aren't directly employed by Radley - were uptight snotty bitches.

And the DESCRIPTIONS on their products are a fucking hoot. Everything is "spunky, smart, fun!" or "sophisticated sleek and breezy!" And the jarringly young models who look like they're trying to rock these old church lady ensembles. Oh Coldwater Creek.

The worst part is, probably most of my sunday-best ensembles when I was an awkward, hulking teenager TOTALLY came from Coldwater Creek. The giant muu-muu-like floral print dresses with sassy denim vests? Gnngh. That was me, circa 1995.

Frankly, if you think about Coldwater Creek's roots, it's surprising they're as edgy as they are.

But really, in this mad mad world, it's kind of comforting to know where you can always find khaki capri pants with drawstrings at the hem.

That and some of their stuff lately is batshit fugly. Like, what in the fuggedy fizz-uck is this?! List price $80!? I love the note of desperation with which it has gone on clearance.

I've been known to shop at both Ann Taylor & Loft, but I haven't found anything I wanted to buy for a price I would pay lately. The ones around me only had a couple suits, for instance, and not ones I'd ever want to wear.
