    The issue with J's Bod was A. genre. Horror/Comedy is notoriously difficult unless it involves zombies. B. marketing. The non-red band trailers suggested a movie that was aimed at men and it really, really, really wasn't. Women watch more horror movies than men, so whoever decided to do the male oriented trailers messed up. I don't know that it would have guaranteed huge success, but it certainly would have been less misleading. Which is what, I think, kept more women away. The women I know who also saw it, regardless of whether they liked it, said the same thing.

    The thing about Fox is that I really don't have a problem with her, even when she says things that I think are overly generalized, or that I just disagree with. She's very young and is, I suspect, basing what she says on her experiences and some unfortunate assumptions. I don't think she actually believes all women are jealous of her. I think she's, not always very articulately, talking about how some of the specific vitriol comes across.

    Here on this site we often discuss the socialization of women to be in competition with each other. We've had countless posts about Mean Girl stories. And I've seen some of that in the general commentary on Fox. And I've seen worse in comments about Angelina Jolie and Diablo Cody.

    Like a lot of other women in the public eye, I think women are often harder on her. Much like we're often harder on each other and ourselves. There's a lot of pressure on women to be the perfect everything, all the time.

    I'm not excusing anything Fox has said, by the way. But I think there's a grain of truth to some of what she's said, or I doubt there'd be this much discussion about her at all. #meganfoxhate

    It just comes off as such an act. I realize everyone has some sort of an contrived image or another in her profession, it’s just the seams of this one are showing as bad as a shitty Project Runway cast-off's design. #meganfoxhate

    This is hilarious, because normally when I'm on my period my boyfriend doesn't give a shit because: SEX. And especially if I'm not bleeding a lot and I'm particular enough to always clean myself afterwards anyway (seriously, I'm not just going to immediately cuddle if there's some grossness of any kind going on between my legs), then he doesn't have a problem. Honestly, a lot of the time it's me who's like, "uhh soo I don't think this is a good idea...I don't want to fuck up your sheets..." and he's the one telling me he's got club soda and a fresh sheet just in case. #periodsex

    I'm not crazy about her because she seems kind of self-involved, and I say that as someone who's never seen her in anything. I've only ever heard her talking about herself, particularly in this context. Few things are so tiresome as anyone wailing about how nobody likes them. She has this way of talking about "women" that implies that she isn't one, or manages to not share the characteristics of her gender that she chooses to criticize. Almost as if to say "women are jealous inherently, I'm the victim, blame them(italics)." Is she not a part of this gender as well, and therefore subject to the same sweeping generalizations? #meganfoxhate

    I can never really relate to these because I don't want anyone touching me, let alone having sex with me, during my period. I'm in too much pain. So whether my partner would be into it or not, I don't want anything near that area. Not out of shame, but because that's just a No Touch Zone for 3-5 days a month. Just how I'm wired.

    Personally, I think it depends on how much you like period sex, and how much/why a partner might not. If, like me, you don't have any interest, it doesn't much matter if a partner is fine with it or not.

    But I know many women, because of the hormone shifts, really want to during that time. And if a guy won't because he thinks your body is gross, or that periods are "unclean" then that's an issue.

    But lots of people find bloody anything gross. I don't get turned on by a gaping chest wound and I can see someone feeling the same here. So again, depends on how much it means to you that you have nookie then, and why someone doesn't want to. #periodsex
