    I get this catalog in the mail! And I have no idea why, because I have never and will never dress like this. Nothing against this style, but it's definitely not mine. I don't know how I got on their mailing list.

    This is much better than my family's idea of a witty Christmas, which would probably involve several farting gifts from Spencer's and a No Fat Chicks t-shirt.

    The Row's prices would make more sense if the clothes were made out of, I don't know, antique silk or RPattz's hair woven into fabric. But it's just JERSEY! That's expensive T-shirt material.

    The price of the glasses is not too bad. I'm all about cost per wear and those those frames will last for a while but the earrings? No.

    @nyc-caribbean-ragazza: It's true about the glasses. And they are wonderful. If I made maybe a smidgen more money than I do now I'd opt for them.

    @nyc-caribbean-ragazza: They look exactly like my glasses, which are Ray-Ban sunglasses with the sunglasses taken out and clear prescription lenses put in. And I reckon that's a cheaper option than this pair... just a tip=)

    @clochette:

    Very clever. Back when I use to receive a salary I had to get new frames. The ones I picked happened to be Oliver Peoples and I love them.

    I don't mind paying more for something that is on my face 50% of the day.

    @Tchotchke: That's true... and usually is difficult to finally drag my wife from there. Also, to be fair, the vast majority of the clothing at Barney's (at least in the men's section) isn't quite as ridiculously priced as the items they tend to put in the catalog.

    I don't care if that cardigan and tank top were made by blind French monks, there is absolutely no way that you can justify the $490 and $225 price tags. Bamboo jersey (the fabric they are made of) does not cost that much, nor does the manufacturing of those garments--not even in the same ballpark. Another $715 says they fall apart after the first washing.

    @VirginiaDentata: Hahaha, so true! But they might not even stand up to dry cleaning. A lot of garments fall apart after going to the dry cleaner's.

    That said, I really, really like the earrings in the first picture.

    @Penny: it's a font called Hollywood Hills, you can download it on dafont.com for free, it's done by ShyFonts.

    There's a whole bunch of forms of it that they mixed up at random to create that look.

    I'm kind of a font obsesser. It's a problem, I'm admitting it and dealing with it.

    What would the Board of Ed say if I suggested LOLFoundingFathers on a teaching job interview? Would they think it's a clever way to integrate our modern times into the teaching of American history? Or would they tell me that I was the reason for the decline of education in America? I don't know, but I'm tempted to find out!
