I DID THIS A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO!
After, like, an adolescence of whinging about how much I wanted to shave my head, and how I just never had the guts to, I just came back from lunch one day with no hair (courtesy of an impulse visit to barber).
Seriously, if you want to do it, I so recommend just doing it. The adrenaline rush makes you feel fearless, and besides, of all the things you could do and later regret, why not go for the one where you can still grow it out, if it's not for you?
Beyonce's Single Ladies (A version for Daddy): "If you didn't want then you shoulda put a rubber on it. You didn't want it then you shoulda put a rubber on it. Uh oh oh uh oh oh oh!
You're right Christoph Blocher. Also, when the DEA makes drug busts, they should really yell out 'WE'RE GOING TO KNOCK DOWN YOUR DOOR AND ARREST YOU!" because it's just rude to go into someone's house unannounced, ya know?
@Apollonia: That's exactly what I was thinking and I was all pissed off intending to write something similar. So, Mr. Blocher, when the authorities are looking to arrest fugitives, it is commonplace to give them a call first to warn them of impending arrest? What a great strategy!
Dear Hollywood,
When you are making Arnold Schwarzenegger look like the only one among you who has any rational thought, maybe it's time to rethink a few things.

@ClementinedeWinter: Why is so much of hollywood defending Polanski? If u can give a 13 year old a lude and do her in the naughty place, where is the line?
- Wow. Go Bill.
My hair is growing back after falling out during chemo. I don't always want to tell the whole cancer story, so I think I'll stick with "I've always been fearless about change." Thanks, Solange!
I am DYING to cut my hair short. DYING I say! Seeing absolutely beautiful women like Solange rock it makes me want to even more, even though my bone structure isn't as amazing. I'm unsure what to do specifically because my hair is extremely thick and wavy and I don't want a weird little curly poof. any tips?
@una.perra.andaluza: Go for it! I've seen so many curly-haired gals rocking short hair. A good stylist will tell you exactly how to achieve a good look and which products to use.
I didn't quite understand yet that my hair did not define me.
Solange has confirmed what I kept trying to drive home throughout the whole "black hair" discussion.
On the Chris Rock/Relaxer post I said: I'm of mixed heritage, Black and Asian. It isn't a cultural or esthetic thing for me. Relaxed hair makes my hair easier to manage. But I can also wear it natural, wavy or pretty much any style I choose depending on my mood. And by natural, I mean cutting it off and starting from the roots.
I love Solange for making women understand that there is no such thing as "good hair."
I find it weird that people have such a strong reaction towards short hair. Last year I was just bored and decided to cut my hair short, not bald, just, short, and the reactions were insane. Things like "I could never EVER do that!!" were said to me more than once. Do what? It's just hair, it grows back, it's not like I got a full back tattoo of a penis, people.
@sarasasa: I once died my blonde hair light brown in college and three people asked me if that meant I was depressed, 'cause, you know, you don't just do something like DYE your hair DARKER unless you have serious mental health issues...
It's just hair people. It's not a window to my soul.
@Tippi Hedren: I love a pixie cut! I continuously gravitate toward short hair. Every time I start growing it out, I get sick of it and go back to short. I'm too heavy right now to rock a full-on pixie, though.
I get so disgusted on What Not to Wear when women with scraggly hair in terrible condition CRY when Nick suggests cutting even an inch off. Short hair on the right face can look amazing. Such as with Solange.
@Tippi Hedren: Ack! Yes! I cut my hair really short a couple years and people asked me and my husband that a lot! His response (which I adopted)shut them up promptly.
Them: What do YOU think about her hair?
Him: Let’s just say you’re lucky we left the bedroom today.
@mediumrare415: To be fair, the women on What Not To Wear might be crying because they know Nick is about to give them his standard Mom Bob cut. Or if they have curly hair, they're in danger of the upside-down triangle.
@Angua van der Woodsen: Everything he did needed just a LIIIIIIIIIIITTLE off the back...it was a bit mullet-esque. The new guy, though, gives everyone red carpet/porn star hair.
@Tippi Hedren: My husband, bless him, loves my short hair. He has long hair, so we're sort of opposites.
He got asked once if he wished my hair was longer, what he did think of it, etc. He went OFF. He doesn't own me, my hair is my business, etc. I'll have to try that bedroom response from LaComtesse next time.
@Tippi Hedren: For the record, my husband likes short hair and thinks it looks great--but even if he didn't like it, I LOVE IT, and that's really all that matters when it comes to something like a hairstyle.
It's not for everyone, but she looks amazing with her cropped do. I never noticed her great bones and pretty eyes until she got rid of the 20 lbs. of weave she used to wear. And, I think, dare I say it, that she is prettier than her famous sister.

She looks effing amazing, and at a stroke she's made all those honey-coloured extensions look hackneyed.
