Tidal sure has come a long way since Jay-Z basically forgot about it. The high-profile release of Kanye West’s album The Life of Pablo led to it being streamed 250 million times in its first 10 days online last February. Think about how many giant plastic mouse heads that can buy.

Let’s all guess how much Tidal, a streaming service which I, like many Americans, forget exists until Kanye tweets about it, paid off the writers at Saturday Night Live to create a sketch that namedrops them a bunch while a famous performer sings in the background. Just kidding. (Mostly.)

In today’s incredibly important dude fight news, Kanye West and Deadmau5 have been making dry jokes about each other on Twitter for the past few hours.

After basking in recent somewhat-successful releases from Rihanna and Kanye West, kinda, Tidal is still not catching any breaks. Yesh Music (yes, Yesh) has filed a $5 million lawsuit against the artist-owned streaming service, claiming failure to pay royalties.

Tidal, the music streaming service owned by Jay Z and a bunch of his friends, announced that they will be donating $1.5 million dollars to the Black Lives Matter organization as well as other civil rights groups.
