    Hillary is awesome. This is exactly why we need more women like her in politics - because there seem to be so few men (and women, even) who even bother to think about improving women's lives as part of improving the world in general rather than some sort of frilly side job that you get bonus points for, but isn't really top priority. I would have loved her for president, but it sounds like she'll do a good job with this position as well. Sniff.

    After recent disappointments in women in power in my work life, I am so glad to be reminded that there ARE women who care about and fight for other women, here and abroad. I really hope she commits to changing the state of affairs for LGBT State Dept employees.

    @dancerevolution is back in the game: Oh, no, no, it sounds like you're all thinking that I'm trying to make a cutting remark of some sort. I'm not, I'm not. It just hit me when I saw "unhealthy, unfed, and uneducated" that it could be describing a lot of girls I've known right here at home, in a totally different way than the oppressed women Hillary's talking about. You know, vapid girls whose only priority is making sure they never eat a sandwich. I can't figure out what you think I was saying, but that's it. No great shakes, I admit, but also not fight-picking or anything.

    On a side note to Hillary speaking of matters pertaining to GLBT officers, Robert Gibbs was asked if Obama getting rid of the 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' policy in the armed forces, and he said yes.


    That's all we have to go on, but with Hillary's remarks and Gibb's answer, it's comforting to know that we are going to finally have a administration working for the betterment of GLBT rights.


    As per this article, I am anticipating seeing Hillary as SoC. Her confirmation hearing is definitely a good start.
