That's actually a much tamer image than the one they used launching it, which was purpley-violent and possibly tentacled? I just remember it looming in Selfridges.
When I tested it, it smelled like this: BAM! Tiger lily pollen, green/jasmine/vanilla, marine.
The BAM! is because it is powerful strong at the start, my friends -- much like Angel (which I hate). The tiger lily pollen is suffocatingly rank, the middle stage nice, and then the end is weirdly unearthly, like atomized seawater.
Not that this has anything to do with the mermaid Valkyrie with the Opera House hairdo.
this fits with mugler's aggressive non-traditional thinking about perfumes. as i understand it, angel was the first women's perfume on the market that wasn't based on flowers, but rather drew from oriental flavors, as i understand it.
I can't honestly speak to how "Alien" smells, but right now I'm wearing "Cologne" by Mugler, a delicious citrus unisex with grassy notes of vetiver and it ROCKS.
@TRexstasy: Either Lucia Turin or Chandler Burr (I forget which) described it as smelling like like a dapper man, metals and meteors - so it always makes me picture Ziggy Stardust. It's one of my favorites too.
@sableized (just like starting over): I love this too. I hate perfume (allergiiiiiiiies!) but the ridiculous, over-the-topnessity of her bustier, hairstyle, makeup, and pose are appealing. Yes, golden creature from Up There, I will follow you into your glitter-gasmic galaxy.
Between this and the dead celebrity perfumes, I have to admit I'm a bit concerned. There may be a coordinated effort between Zombies and Aliens to take over the world through our olfactory systems. Just to be safe, I'm gonna stick to my standby fragrance of soap and deodorant.
Ha, this reminds me of when I was a punk/goth kid in high school and desperately wanted to wear Hypnotic Poison for my perfume. Did it smell good? Absolutely not.

Meaning the dress.
And it would look awesome on me.
And if NASA is hiring I would like to know about it.
