    I hate this transparency trend, whether it's lace with nothing on underneath or actually transparent fabric. Even when it's on a woman as lovely as Ms Lively here.

    However, I'm more of a "leave something to the imagination" type of girl and she most definitely is not, so taking that into consideration I do think her dress would be incredibly sassy and cute if it wasn't see-through. And I love that big green ring, it looks like jade which is my current gemstone obsession.

    @lisas: Agreed, although the more egregious error for me here is the leotard situation. Ms. Lively looks fierce, but I just don't think it's okay to drape a lace sarong around a damn leotard unless you're Lady Gaga. That's because the pantslessness on LG's part doesn't seem to be an attempt at tastemaking, but rather persona-creating. Blake's ensemble makes her look like she's trying too hard to be on the front end of something that shouldn't be a trend.

    Robert Downey Jr. is one of maybe 3 men on this planet that reduces me to a crush-laden teenager at the mere sight of his photo. I really have nothing intelligent to say here other than, "he's really handsome."

    Oh, and Rachel McAdams looks adorable, per usual. I that she never seems to succumb to the drag queen makeup and helmet hair so favored by her starlet peers.

    Also, dammit Blake Lively! Put some clothes on!

    @Tchotchke: Ok, it took me a really long time to figure out what Blake Lively's dress reminded me of and then I remembered: Those black lace veils that elderly Italian women used to wear...But made into a dress.

    @Tchotchke: oh for sure. It looks , to me, like the veils Irish (and one assumes Italian et al) women wear to mass. It's not required everywhere anymore, but I still know some conservative congregations where it is de rigeur.

    @Tchotchke: Agreed. At first I thought it was the fault of the Gossip Girl costume designers, but then I realized she dresses in even more revealing clothing on her own time. It really seems like she's trying way too hard.

    @Tchotchke: I also think its a short sighted career move. Being the young sexy article might get you attention now, but eventually someone else will come along and replace you. A good actor can get work as they age, but sexpots have a short career span.
