Women Rule At The Time 100 Party

Last night in New York, Time magazine hosted a reception honoring its self-selected 100 Most Influential people of the year and, I have to say, the women in attendance were a cool bunch: Arianna Huffington, Martha Stewart, Angelica Huston, Wendy Kopp, Tina Fey, Madeeha Hasan Odhaib, Elizabeth Gilbert, and others. And since today's my last day as a full-time Jezebel, I've decided to focus less on the clothes and more on what they've accomplished. On the whole, these are women sans stylists: They're all Good in my book! (Though Wendi Deng's dress is a little unforgivable.) More »

Memo To Allure: Rachel Zoe Is Not Alluring

Allure magazine is the most confusing of all the American ladymags. Is it a beauty magazine? A fashion magazine? Both? Do people really still buy it? But what's even more confusing was the guest list for last night's NYC event celebrating the "Most Alluring Bodies": those of Hilary Duff, Katherine McPhee, Paula Patton, Carey Lowell, Olivia Palmero and Rachel Zoe. All these ladies and a few more (like Simon Doonan and Jonathan Adler!) in the Good, the Bad, & the Ugly, after the jump. More »

Just here in New York for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala on Monday evening, last night Stella made her way to the left coast, where she hosted a screening of the classic Peter Sellers comedy The Party at her Los Angeles boutique. And yes, rest assured, famous friends followed: Charlize Theron, Emmanuelle Chirqui, Mika, Rashida Jones, Rosanna Arquette, Amber Valletta, Angie Harmon, China Chow and others. Anna Wintour: Empress Of The Ugly At Costume Institute Gala

One more time! (Promise.) Met. Costume. Institute. Gala. Superheroes. Sponsored by Vogue and Armani. Hosted by Julia Roberts and George Clooney. You've seen the Good. You've seen the Bad. [This is reminding me of a certain early '80s sitcom theme song. -Ed.] Now we've got the Ugly, namely, a god-awful Anna Wintour, Melania Trump, Mary-Kate Olsen, Kimora Lee Simmons, and (sob) Dita von Teese. All of them, and others, after the jump. More »

Speed Racer: Another Premiere, Another Hot Shot Of Eva Amurri

For the love of God: How many Speed Racer premieres is Warner Bros. scheduling?! The latest took place on Friday night as part of the Tribeca Film Festival. By now you know the routine: Christina Ricci, Emile Hirsch, Susan Sarandon, Miles Robbins, Eva Amurri, and that cute little kid who is also in the movie. But since this was the Tribeca Film Festival, there were also some kick-ass randoms present: Robert DeNiro and his wife Grace Hightower, Law & Order: Criminal Intent's Vincent D'Onofrio and his wife and son; Fred Durst (again!) and his girlfriend and, best of all, Stephen Colbert and his entire family. All of them, plus the Good, Bad and Ugly of what they wore, after the jump. More »

What Happens In Vegas Is A Whole Lotta Bad Fashion

The ads for the Ashton Kusher-Cameron Diaz comedy What Happens in Vegas boast that the film is "the first big comedy of the summer." Based on these same ads, however, I'm pretty sure that it's the first big-budget sucky movie of the summer. Confirming my theory are the sartorial choices made by those in attendance at the movie's premiere in Los Angeles last night. Brooke Burns, Diablo Cody, Eva Longoria, Michelle Krusiec, Tamara Mowry, and Soleil Moon Frye (!) were all there. And looking bad. (Sorry Diablo.) And as a little gift for you for Friday: Bai Ling was there too. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, all after the jump. More »

Iron Man Premiere: The Bold, The Beautiful, The Jumpsuit On Gwyneth

After a gajillion and a half screenings and press junkets, the Iron Man movie finally had its official premiere last night in Los Angeles. And. Um. How best to phrase this? Well: Gwyneth Paltrow wore a jumpsuit. Yes, a jumpsuit. (See left; larger image after the jump.) Fortunately, the movie's lead, Robert Downey, Jr., stepped it up: He and wife Susan both embodied old-school Hollywood style. Who else was there? Funny you should ask: Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor, Billy Corgan (!), Emmanuelle Chirqui, Jennifer Grey (!!), Sean "Diddy" Combs, Beau Bridges, Pete Wentz, Terrence "Baby Wipes" Howard, Vince Vaughn, Jack Black, Rosanna Arquette and more. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, all after the jump. More »

Ashley Olsen, Isabella Rossellini Dress Old For Film Premiere

Experimental filmmaker Holly Fisher and photographer Peter Lindbergh made a movie together called Everywhere At Once that "exists on the dividing line between documentary and fiction" and is supposed to be the next Hiroshima Mon Amour. Oh-kay! Anyway, last night, Harper's Bazaar sponsored a screening of of the film at the Tribeca Film Festival and not only was Ashley Olsen there, but tons more models: Helena, Selita, Valentina and Isabella (Rossellini, that is). Also, Harper's Bazaar editor-in-chief Glenda Bailey better get ready to face the wrath of PETA. The full Good, Bad, and Ugly, after the jump. More »

Cry-Baby: The Musical: Tasteless In Form And Fashion

"Brace yourself for a shock, theatergoers. There's no delicate way of putting this. 'Cry-Baby,' the latest Broadway musical based on a John Waters movie, is... tasteless. Why aren't you shocked? Oh, I see. You thought that I meant the show that opened last night at the Marquis Theater was in bad taste....When I said 'tasteless,' I meant without flavor: sweet, sour, salty, putrid or otherwise. This show in search of an identity has all the saliva-stirring properties of week-old pre-chewed gum. (Not to be tasteless.)" So writes New York Times critic Ben Brantley in today's paper, reviewing Cry-Baby: The Musical, the latest movie-turned-musical from John Waters. Oh well. At least the opening gave us some goodies! On hand last night were John Waters, Debbie Harry, David Byrne, Cindy Sherman, Kathleen Turner, Adam Duritz, Ricki Lake, Chris March and... Rocco DiSpirito. The Baby Mama Premiere Was Chock-Full Of Hot Mamas

It's safe to say that, by this point, everyone knows everything they need to know about Tina Fey and Amy Poehler's new movie, Baby Mama. But did you know that it opened last night at the Tribeca Film Festival? And that, in addition to Fey (left) and Poehler, SNL peeps Rachel Dratch, Molly Shannon and Lorne Michaels were also there? Don't care? How about these names: Faye Dunaway, Sigourney Weaver, Padma Lakshmi, Kristen Bell and Fred Durst? Yup, all those folks and more in the full Good, Bad and Ugly of the Baby Mama premiere, after the jump. More »

In addition to DeNiro and his gorgeous wife Grace Hightower, David Bowie, Iman, Martha Stewart, Donna Karan, Russell Simmons, Porschia Coleman, Sigourney Weaver, Natasha Richardson, Gayle King, Jerry and Jessica Seinfeld, and others were on hand. Helen Hunt Finds Birth Mother, Pretty Dress At Film Premiere

Helen Hunt: She's not just Jaime Buchman, she's a very serious director. Hunt's latest fare is the adoption drama Then She Found Me which, a la Streisand, she doesn't just direct, but stars in as well. Last night's New York premiere featured the film's cast (Bette Midler, Salman Rushdie, Matthew Broderick) and their supporters, including Gloria Steinem, Heather Matarazzo, Bernadette Peters, Ricki Lake, Mamie Gummer and Jerry & Jessica Seinfeld. Random yes, but it made for some interesting fashion! As always, the full Good, Bad & Ugly after the jump. More »

Stars, T-Shirts Come Out To (Hip) Hop The Vote

If you're reading this and you're living in the state of Pennsylvania, for the love of God: Please vote tomorrow. Clearly, the hip hop community shares my sentiments, as the National Hip Hop League staged a Vote 2008 event in Philadelphia yesterday, encouraging young adults to get off their asses and head to the polls. Leading the charge was none other than Russell Simmons, who recruited stars like Ciara, Lil Mama, Flo-Rida, O'Neal McNight, poker players Diane Nguyen and Heather Smith, Emily King, Rocsi and Valeisha Butterfield to his cause. Who looked good? Who looked bad? Who looked ugly? It's all after the jump. But really: Who cares? Just vote, please. More »

Last night, Conde Nast Traveler hosted a party to celebrate its 8th annual "Hot List" and the maybe-pregnant Ashlee Simpson, left, was there looking pretty as can be. (And not really pregnant at all.) Also there: Adrien Brody, who remains lovable despite the fact that he oozes douchiness. Lastly: Has anyone ever seen Jaslene Gonzalez show up somewhere and not think to themselves: What the fuck were you thinking, Tyra Banks?!
