Has anyone been to Shambala? It's Tippi's home and large cat (ie. tigers, lions, bobcats, ocelots, etc) preservation outside of Los Angeles. It's awesome and if you're local you should definitely visit - they only give public tours one day per month (becuase it's main function is to be a preserve, not a tourist attraction)
@CrazyLegsMeg: Never been to Shambala, but I'm very aware of Ms. Hedren's big cat 'rescue' work.
Had no idea she was a horse lover though--how Marnie of her!
@MargaretMoony: Yes, that is the most fascinating piece of this story! Somehow I have trouble accepting that prim 50's housewives--who undoubtedly vacuum in high heels--would be, uh 'open' to using tampons!
@LucilleMcGillicuddy: Nice! When I was younger, I always told my parents I would invest in two things: condoms and tampons because people would ALWAYS need them.
@Wit is periodically disensouled: I know right? My all-time favorite Hitchcock is Spellbound, which has a few similarities (which I will not detail because they are spoilers). I'll cop to never having seen The Birds, but there's so much hype surrounding that movie that I don't think I would be able to respond to the text itself, I would be responding to everything I've heard about it over the years.
@LBB: Oooh, I love Spellbound! Young Gregory Peck and Dali dream sequences, please and thank you!
I really don't get the big fuss over The Birds. Maybe I need to watch it again, but aside from a few really great scenes, it never struck me as particularly fascinating. The plot is so vague (some might call it mysterious) that it just becomes dull, in my eyes.
@pesematology: And obscenely crazy expensive stuff at that. So they went with the 'crazy' when they "wrote" the damn thing. WTF? (Nice sound effects on the interminable 'removal of bag contents' however.)
God, I thought that was terrible. Maybe it's because I'm a noir and Hitchcock fan, but wow... yeah. I'd like to scrub that out of my brain now, please.
What was it supposed to accomplish? I didn't want to continue watching it after about 30 seconds and had to fight the urge to click away the whole time through... I don't really remember what the bag looks like, and I didn't covet the clothes.
The contents of the bag were neat, if a little overdone. And that's all I've got.

What are they trying to get people to buy?
