The Anna Sui collection isn't all that. The palette and prints are nice, but the fabrics are awful. Like sweat bullets awful. The anorak is the best item, but in SoCal, I couldn't justify it.
regarding the Anna Sui collection at Target - the Berkeley location was FULLY stocked with the entire collection as of this weekend. so if you're in the Bay Area, you're in luck.
Jenna, when you mention Oscar de La Renta seemed jealous of Thakoon, do you mean in regards to scoring the well-remunerated Mango project? Or the fact that Thakoon is a protegé of Wintour and a hot new thing in fashion? I know it is edited to look that way, but from the trailer and little cuts I've seen, it gave me the impression that the film shows some tension between de la Renta and Wintour. Which, for some reason, I find fascinating.
@sportz.star: Yes. As much as I LV snark, their Suhali Leather collection is quite pretty. But the brand is kind of ruined for me, and if I was spending 4 figures on a bag, it wouldn't be a LV.
@keldo: I feel for LV though, his bags have sooooo many knockoffs that i automatically associate their logo with cheap. Not sure that's an association a luxury company wants its products to have.
Everything at J. Crew makes it to clearance. Even their zillion-dollar doily-encrusted wedding dresses. I do not think that is an appropriate measure of the First Lady's awesome powers.
Angelina's stylist seems really cool. I hope she replaces Rachel Zoe as the go to stylist to the stars. She has great style and seems so smart and down-to-earth.
does Patrick Robinson send Carolina Herrera her Gap shirts as a gift? Or because she can't bear to go in the stores herself? Or she doesn't know how to use the internet (granted their new checkout process bites)? I just don't get it.
Can Manhattan get an actual Nordstrom too? Because the only thing I regret about moving from White Plains to Jersey City is losing the Nordstrom at the Westchester. Nordstrom, along with better weather and an overpowering desire for decent Mexican is behind my desire to move to California.
Please, New York. Give me Nordstrom.
(Or Von Maur, but I suspect Nordstrom is a tad more likely.)
@Ratinski: Wait, there's no Nordstrom in @overnightly: Probably you can type in "I'm Carolina Herrera" in the credit card number space on the Gap's website.
@Ratinski: when I lived in D.C., I had my choice of five, count 'em, five Nordstroms in various parts of town. A work friend and I used to meet up at the Anniversary Sale at 8 a.m., shop, and make it into the office on time. It was also a great place to pick up a salad on the way home.
RE: the midnight store openings and promotions? If there is an open bar I will be there. If it's unlimited I might even get drunk enough to buy something. TAKE NOTE DESIGNERS!
@browngirlinthering: but you will enjoy having a Nordstrom Rack. There's one in the Loop in Chicago, across from where Marshall Field was (SOB!) I have gotten sacks of work clothes for a fraction of what they are selling for on Michigan Avenue.
The funny think about Van Heusen, is that they're the retail equivalent of the boy who cried wolf. Nothing comes into a Van Heusen store at "full price" Things are given a fake value, and then put on sale racks--nothing is ever sold at the sticker price and was never meant to be. Now, things really need to go on sale and no one cares.
