Teen sailor Abby Sunderland appeared on The Today Show this morning to discuss her failed attempt to sail around the world and defend her decision to keep on sailing.
Now that teen sailor Abby Sunderland is safe and well, the backlash against her voyage — and more importantly, her parents — has begun. But are the Sunderlands really deserving of the title "parents who should be shot"?
Laurence Sunderland, father of teen sailor Abby Sunderland, has admitted that he signed on to do a reality TV show just weeks after Abby set off on her solo sail. However, he maintains that her trip "wasn't a stunt." [NYP]
Sixteen-year-old Abby Sunderland, who lost contact with her family yesterday during her attempt to circumnavigate the globe, has been found alive and in her boat after a tense search effort during which some feared the worst.
