I'm 5'11" and wouldn't change it for the wolrd, however, I do not date men that are shorter than me.
Maybe its because I've always been an aggressive take no shit girl but I feel like dating someone taller than me would somehow add to the column of things about me that people use to make me feel "manly" or "butch".
I hate being made out to be less feminie simply because I'm not short or demure. When people get to know me they are always surprised at how "girly" I actually am.
Being with someone short would just add to the weird power dynamic I already feel.
Also, most short men I've met that are into tall women seem to be very similar to fetishists. I don't want to date someone who is more amused at being with an "amazon/super model/whatever" than being with me.

The problem is that even though my brain xrays came back completely normal, my idiot parents bought everything this stupid endocrinologist told them. She told me that I had "very poor weight" and should probably drink whole milk instead of skim - because THAT'll just change your life. She suggested a growth hormone to make me a little bit taller, and my parents even seemed to consider it for a hot second. My mom suggested that I hang out for a while on some monkey bars because she thought that when people stretch their bodies out a little bit every day, they end up a little taller. My parents would start acting suspicious if I said I wasn't hungry because I ate AN HOUR AGO. It's like I was under suspicion of staying short on purpose, as if I had any appreciable control over the natural growth of my skeleton. The bullshit finally ended when I went back for a second appointment about a month later, and I'd grown about a half-inch or so. So that's how I got off the hook. The endocrinologist gave me this stupid little hug and said "okay, bye bye sweetie!" which I took to mean, "Well, it looks like you're innocent after all. Be careful out there!" I've never wanted to kick someone in the eye so very very badly.

Both of my brothers had synthetic growth hormone. It wasn't easy for them growing up, but I know for a FACT that they would be worse off without it.

I dated a guy for a few years who had taken hormones to grow taller, and I think he considers it to be worth it. He was only about 5'7-5'8 after the hormones, and I can see as a man wanting to at least hit that height. He was still small, but he was at least in average-small territory whereas before, it was a distinct possibility he could have stopped growing at 5'2. I think if my child were in a similar position I would definitely give them the option.

Taking a hormone you don't need just seems like a bad idea.
