Quentin Tarantino saying he won't make movies past 60 is vaguely reminiscent of kids in their late teens or early 20s saying they'll die before they turn 30.
Sounds immature to me - not to mention ageist. Like people over the age of 60 can't have "artistry?" Give me a break.
"Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa has returned from vacation and found that the councilwoman acting as mayor in his absence was urging people to donate money for Michael Jackson's memorial."
Do they not have the Internets (or radio, or television) where the mayor was staying? It's not like this donation thing got any publicity or anything.
BI = I hope it is not T.R. Knight. Nothing against him, but I worked with his mom, and I find it awkward to picture someone naked when I only know them through their mom. OH GOD SHE WILL KNOW AND THINK I AM A PERVERT!
@lilbobbytables is a la-di-da feminist: I like to imagine that the BI is Neil Patrick Harris. Not that I think he'd do that, but the thought of it makes me giggle.
@theruraljuror: And the thought of Emma Watson starring in it makes me want to go see it. Emma's not a stupid girl; if she saw the script and liked what she saw, I'm pretty sure this is going to be effing amazing.
I wonder if Evan Rachel Wood was originally supposed to star in it, though...there's a thought!
@theruraljuror: Yeah, but I live in fear of Emma Watson spending time around Marilyn Manson and then all of a sudden showing up to a red carpet in a corset and finger waves a la Evan Rachel Woods. Emma! Only date boys your own age!
@Nun Shall Pass: Yep. Wood had been the "ingenue" he was pushing. If Emma Watson gets it, great! I'd been wondering if Wood was going forward w/ it - I guess not.
I keep forgetting that the Bono-authored Spiderman musical is a real thing. It seems like something you would dream up after a superhero movie marathon and a spicy dinner.
You know, those "similarities" linked in the TMZ article could just as well be framed as "Gilligan's Island" ripped off my script or the fucking "Flintstones."
@schweppes: I was thinking this Anthony Spinner guy should watch out - Robert Louis Stevenson is going to sue HIM for ripping off Treasure Island. Because, you know, it's about an island.
I don't know... I just finished a MJ biography (goes through just before the 2nd molestation charges), and while Katherine Jackson without a doubt loved Michael with all her heart, she was always looking out for the best interests of her sons. Yes, SONS, plural. Despite the unwavering protests of Michael -- to the point where he avoided almost his entire family so stringently that he refused to see them when they flew overseas to rescue him from drug addiction -- she never let up about him working with his brothers, touring with his brothers, doing TV specials with his brothers, who were too dumb and too spoiled to curb their extravagant spending and therefore constantly broke.
I don't doubt that the family as a whole is closer now than it was 15 years ago, but I don't know that Katherine truly understands what Michael's best interests are, as opposed to the family's best interests.
@stoprobbers:it seems like the same old thing, doesn't it? child stars who end up supporting their entire families, and the family never really getting their own thing, just hanging on to the cash cow.
@stoprobbers: And it isn't as if she did anything to protect Michael from his father back when he needed that protection. The fact that she and Joe are still in each others' business and lives is worrying for the welfare of MJ's kids.
@stoprobbers: Honestly, I don't think it's a bad thing to have independent trustees for his estate, especially given the complexity of his business dealings and the fact that Katherine is the children's guardian. It's just checks and balances to make sure that everyone is proceeding in the best interests of his children.
@stoprobbers: If you take out the fact that Michael was a superstar, I don't think there's anything unusual about her attitude to her family. She had nine children to look out for, and there's no reason Michael should be her "favourite" just because he was the most successful. I'd say most parents look out for the interests of all their children. If one child is successful, they worry and look out for the other kids, and often expect the more successful child to look after the others. I have dealt with the same thing with my parents and sister and I'm sure others have as well.
I love Dylan McDermott and am intrigued by his new show but I get scared by shows when every character yells through every ad. I always want to reach through and secretly switch them all to decaf.
Seriously. It's irritating. And then she's all "No one wants me to talk cuz I'm jus an opinionated wimmin!" Lol. No it's because you talk shit about the very movies that gave you success, that no one forced you to act in, and you do it in a very insulting and disrespectful way. You can be blunt and opinionated without shitting on people.
@Imjustnotthatintoyou: @Devonna: She's made it an art form. She couldn't even wait a few years until the E! True Hollywood Story about her comes out. Her movie's not even out yet and she's slamming it.
@femaledwightschrute: I could be wrong, but I think I read something similar from her in another interview, and I believe the context of that interview was that she was a bit glad The Ugly Truth is rate R, because she thought a bit of language and crudeness is more realistic in relationships. So I think she was trying to say The Ugly Truth is different from most sanitized romantic comedies. I don't know if I agree with her, but I don't believe she was trying to insult her project.

hours a day is a bit cuckoo, doing it
to Sting's mandolin music sounds like
secret CIA torture.
AND your trainers are not geniuses if they
need 3 HOURS of your time. I could make you look great if I made you work out for
that amount of time. Jeez.

Anyways, I was looking forward to Denzel with Chris Pine! Lame.
Katherine Heigl, I absolutely agree with everything you said. So stop doing such shitty movies!

EXACTLY. If you don't like romantic comedies so much, thennnnn...stop being in them. It just seems very contradictory to me.
