Has anyone seen the documentary "Confessions of a Superhero"? It's about the people who dress up as comic book/movie characters in front of Grauman's Chinese Theater on Hollywood Blvd and, basically, annoyed me every day of my life for about two years. Anyway, the guy who "plays" Superman is OBSESSED with the character, proposed to his wife at the Superman Convention in Metropolis (with a "S" ring) and they got married there⦠yes, he was in costume.
I've just realized that I really don't know what "girl Friday" means. I know there's a movie called "His Girl Friday," right? Someone, please enlighten me.
Alexander lived a very long life, I always like to see that.
@Penny: It's a take-off on Robinson Crusoe and his "native assistant" (we'll get into the colonial implications of that later) named Friday. So basically, a right-hand man/woman.
Reading the racial discrimination charges against Nordstrom and their fucked up commission policies makes me sad.
I really like Nordstrom because they always have great service. I hate to hear that when I return something the nice employee that helped me gets fucked over in the end.
Way to ruin my morning coffee Nordstrom *shakes fist*
Every time a new Face of Loreal (or CoverGirl or Clairol, &c) is announced, I wonder if these women know or give a rip that the aforementioned companies conduct animal testing in their labs. For cosmetics. Because that's entirely necessary.
Its confusing to me that it is even still done. Is it cheaper? There are tons of brands on the market that test products without the use of emails. wtf yo.
@yousername: Honestly, I have no idea why it's still done. That's an excellent question. Habit? Convenience? Yeah, many, many companies manage to do nicely without either harming animals themselves or using products by companies that do so. And Dr. Hauschka's pretty pricey, but no more than Lancome.
They do know Freida Pinto is brown, right? Or are they just going to whitewash her like they do with Rai? Meh. This desi girl is more excited by Evangeline Lily.

I'm just knitpicky and this really harms no one. Carry on with your silliness, Metropolis.
