    Sugar Mummies sounds like a Halloween candy.


    I often call myself the sugar mama in my relationship (even though my bf and I are the same age) because he bought a new car this summer and I don't have one, so I give him some of my tip money each weekend to pay for gas/upkeep.

    Not sure where I'm going with this just yet so bear with me...this couple seems sweet and fun and genuinely happy. However if this was a woman with a man old enough to be her grandpa, I feel that it would be slightly creepy and make me question if she had "daddy issues". What's wrong with this picture?

    @hellonini9: I get what you're saying. I am almost always made uncomfortable by extreme age gaps in serious romantic relationships. I don't want to feel this way and I actively try to dispell my discomfort. I want to be accepting and understanding of everybody's happy consensual relationships, but some of them ick me out. For me it's not gender related, even. May-December just baffles me. So do committed-but-open relationships and three-way-marriages. I don't understand them, and I have tried to. I think the disconnect occurs because I know that I would not be happy in these relationships, so I project that onto other people. It's weird, because I am not like that in other life departments... Maybe I have baggage?

    I saw this months ago when it was on in the UK. Some of the couples seemed perfectly lovely, but man, Edna seemed like such a bitch. In one scene, she kicked Simon's parents out of the house over some minor disagreement and threatened to call the cops. I just kinda felt sorry for this guy, because he seems to have gone from a very sheltered childhood and adulthood into a relationship with a very dominant woman. Which probably works sexually, but otherwise...

    Ok, I can't really judge them on this, even if it would be weird. The oldest guy I dated was 16 years my senior. I even met his kids, 19 & 20 (I'm 27) and it wasn't nearly as weird as I thought it'd be, but he is pretty cool and so are his kids (I'm still friends with him and he hangs in the same crowd).


    But...40 years? Wowza. I wish them well, but wowza!

    @little stripes: I did someone 12 years older than me and met his 14-year-old daughter (I was 23) and it was totally as weird as I thought it would be!


    It was too much of an age difference for me. But, he acted a good 20 years older than me and used to treat me like a child, so that might have had something to do with it. Or, maybe it was the 40 days spent in jail while I was stuck raising his teenage daughter followed by the year long sentence of house arrest. That also could have been part of the problem.


    Wow, I didn't realize I was still so mad about that!

    I can't fault this. They seem genuinely happy. and I'm going to sound like a complete weirdo when I say I have actually seen them on a similar show, on a different channel here in the UK and they were exactly the same. So kudos to them.
    I have a question for the recently turned 30 year old Jezzies, do you find that you are always attracting guys younger than you? Or is it just me?

Mr. Penguino says that when he was in his late teens and twenties, women in their 30's and 40's were super-hot, into sex, but not into boring old commitments. Do with that as you will.

    @Mama Penguino: Ha! Oh yeah that is me! All I want is super hot fun sex right now, not a relationship! I was with a 23 year old for basically a fuck-buddy relationship for about 9 months and he was always telling me how much he loved that I was older and he thought I was hot??? And that always really perplexed me...

    I couldn't see dating a 40-year-old younger or older man, but to each his own. Only the people in the relationship know if it's a healthy one. And age doesn't matter, it's all about maturity.


    @LucyTuzy: While everyone has their own comfort levels and you should date the age you want, I think it's weird you think a 4-year-age difference is weird, let alone a difference at all.
